Manchester United (MU), Sir Alex Ferguson, admitted puzzled by the attitude of the British media that criticized the all-out goalkeeper David De Gea, but did not criticize the Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart. According to Fergie, both goalkeepers were doing the same mistake in the party's Community Shield on Sunday (08/07/2011).
De Gea received harsh criticism after City scored the second goal Edin Dzeko. From a distance, Dzeko straight kick off that could have ignored De Gea. But, alas, the Spanish goalkeeper was too late to react and the ball went inside.
"We spent 18 million euros (about USD 218 billion) to buy De Gea. So, according to long-term idea, we'll give him another chance. He was not lucky with the second goal at Wembley and he had no chance at all on the first goal," Fergie said.
As Hart was criticized even though they conceded three goals in the game. According to Fergie, Hart should be criticized for Chris Smalling goals. Through a free-kick scenario, Ashley Young took off feed the stomach to the mouth of the goal City. Smalling then cut the ball into the net and Hart.
"It is also interesting to see there was no criticism that filed for City goalkeeper Joe Hart. In fact, it is the same type of error and it is your national team goalkeeper (UK)," said Fergie.
